Iran’s KSC Billet Export Tender Fetches Higher Bids

Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) – Iran’s largest steel exporter in Iranian FY17 and subsidiary of Iranian Mines & Mining industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) invited tender for export of billet and slabs.

The company invited tender for export of 40,000 MT slab and 30,000 MT billets. The due date for bid submission was 7 July’17 till 18:00 hrs as per Iranian Standard time. The shipment period for billet is scheduled in Sept’17 and that for slabs is scheduled for Jul end – early Aug’17.

According to the update received from market sources, the steel maker has received bids from 17 companies. The bids received for billets were in the range of USD 410-415/MT, FoB basis. The company was eyeing for price level of USD 415/MT, FoB basis and it is presently negotiating with the parties for the same.

Prior to this, the company had floated an export tender of 20,000 MT billet and 40,000 MT slab, which closed on 26 May’17. According to sources company fetched bids at around USD 375-380/MT FoB for slabs and USD 380-385/MT FoB for billets.

Iran’s steel export hit 1.5 MnT in Q1 Iranian FY18 (21 Mar-21 Jun) – According to IMIDRO report, Iranian steel makers have exported 1.58 MnT semi-finished and finished steel during 1st quarter of Iranian FY18 spanning from 21 Mar-21 Jun, up 2% Y-o-Y.

Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) was the largest exporter and it exported 809,429 MT of slab, bloom and billet. Out of the total quantity exported share of billets was 107,048 MT. KSC currently exports to 13 countries in the Middle East and North Africa region, Far East and Americas.
