Mv. Smart carrying around 147,650 MT of coal, which grounded and partially broke in to two parts adjacent to the exit channel of the Richard's Bay of Coal Terminal (RBCT) on Monday have finally sunk after breaking up in to 2 parts.
Vessel was carrying grade of 5500 NAR grade coal cargo of Chinese leading trader Minmetal, which is to be delivered in China.
Mv. Smart is the second dry bulk carrier which run aground and sunk in South African coast within two week. Two weeks ago Mv. Kiani Satu carrying rice was also sunk near South African coast.
The port is currently open to incoming and outgoing of vessels.
