Pakistan has registered growth in their monthly coal imports. Coal imports have increased by 24% M-o-M to 1,156,970 MT in Jun’17. The country had imported 931,679 MT coal in May’17.
So far, Pakistan has imported 5,438,099 MT coal in CY17 (Jan’17-Jun’17), according to the provisional data maintained by CoalMint Research.

Major Exporting Countries:
South Africa remained the top coal exporter to Pakistan in Jun’17. South African coal accounts for 78% of the total coal imported by Pakistan during Jan’17-Jun’17.
South African coal export rose 17% M-o-M to 938,720 MT in Jun’17.
Indonesia was the second-largest coal exporter in Jun’17. Export from Indonesia increased significantly from 78,080 MT in May’17 to 162,800 MT in Jun’17.
Russia supplied 55,900 MT coal in Jun’17. While, Pakistan did not receive any coal shipments from Mozambique during the month.
