Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL)’s state-of-the-art plate mill at its Angul Facility has been granted API Monogram License for Supply of plates in accordance with API 2H, API 2W and API 2Y for offshore structural application. JSPL Angul becomes the Second Mill in India to get the license by American Petroleum Institute (API) for all three grades.
This Monogram license shall open a huge business opportunity in Oil and Gas segment where it is mandatory and also there shall be indirect effect with many organizations’s who considers API Q1 as reference for order placement. API monogram license also support Government of India – Make In India concept for domestic requirement in offshore applications for oil and gas companies in India.
As a part of its 6 MnTPA integrated steel plant at Angul, JSPL has built 1.2 MnTPA plate mill capable of producing plates of five meter width.
