In a recent notification issued Ministry of Finance (govt. of India) has granted extension of deadline for completing the Anti-Dumping (AD) investigation concerning imports of ‘’color coated/pre painted flat products of alloy or non alloy steel” originating or exported from China PR and European Union till 28 Sept’17 and then notify final findings.
On 11 Jan’17, Indian government imposed a provisional AD duty on ‘Colour coated/pre-painted flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel’ originating in or exported from People’s Republic of China and European Union for a period of six months. The AD duty rate fixed on PPGI/color coated flat steel product is at USD 849/MT.

India’s PPGI/Color Coated Flat Steel Imports in CY17 – According to customs data maintained with SteelMint, India imported 0.47 MnT Galvanised & color coated flat steel products (HS codes 7210 & 7212) during Jan’17-May’17. Imports grew around 50% M-o-M from 0.08 MnT in Apr’17 to 0.12 MnT in May’17.
India imported 1.27 MnT PPGI & color coated flat steel products (HS codes 7210 & 7212) during Jan’16-Nov’16. China accounted for largest share of 46% in imports of color coated flat steel to India followed by South Korea and Japan at 24% and 13% respectively.
