Plate export offers for base grade have moved up this week by USD 20/MT and are assessed in the range of USD 550/MT, CFR Europe which is equivalent to USD 515/MT, FoB India.Towards end of May’17, offers were at USD 530/MT, CFR Europe.
As per sources bids for plate export offers have been increased from overseas buyers Moreover,market participants mentioned that CIS nations are supplying less resulting to increased offers from Indian plate exporters.
However,SAIL export offers for ASTM A36 grade is at USD 460/MT but the company charges premium thus the final export price comes to around USD 510-515/MT FoB India.
Domestic plate prices remain stable this week and are hovering in the range of INR 38,500-39,000/MT (ex-Delhi) and INR 38,500/MT (ex-Mumbai). Prices are inclusive of Excise duty of 12.5%,VAT/CST extra.
China-Plate Export Offers remain unchanged over stability in Domestic Market.
Chinese plate export offers remain unchanged this week owing to weak buying interest from overseas buyers.
Current plate export offers are assessed in the range of USD 435-440/MT, FoB China.Last week the prices was in the range of USD 445-450/MT,FoB basis.
Meanwhile domestic prices of plate are assessed in the range of RMB 3,180-3,200/MT which is equivalent to 468-471/MT including VAT.
Major mills in China have increased the plate export offers by USD 5-10/MT and are heard in the range of USD 440-445/MT.However no such deals have been concluded yet and their is still the scope of bargaining for overseas buyers.
