The 8th largest iron ore exporter of iron ore, Russia has exported around 2.5 MnT iron ore in Apr’17, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed an increase of 71% M-o-M as it was 1.46 MnT in Mar’17. Compared with the numbers for the month of Apr’16 Russia’s iron ore export has seen a significant increase of 80% Y-o-Y.
In Apr’17, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were recorded at 1.11 MnT, up by 11% M-o-M and 54% Y-o-Y compared to Apr’16. The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 1.38 MnT, up by 194% M-o-M & 107% Y-o-Y compared to Apr’16.
Country-wise Iron Ore Exports
Russia iron ore exports were chiefly directed to China followed by Slovakia, Poland, Germany and Turkey etc. in Apr’17.
Russian exports to China were recorded at 0.78 MnT, Slovakia 0.28 MnT, Netherlands 0.17 MnT, Poland 0.17 MnT, Germany 0.12 MnT, Hungary 0.11 MnT and Finland 0.11 MnT, etc.
