Met Coke exports from China shrunk 12.6% in May’17 as compared with the imports in Apr’17, an analysis by CoalMint Research shows.
According to the export data gathered by CoalMint Research, 65 MnT of Met Coke was exported out of that country during May’17. In the previous month, the export volume was at 74 MnT.
On a year-on-year comparison, the export volume in May’17, however, was higher by 14% than that of 57 MnT in the same month of the last year.
Exhibiting a declining trend, the cumulative imports during the Jan-May’17 period also had fallen by 15% to 340 MnT from 400 MnT in the same period of the previous year.
The declining export trend was an outcome of the declining demand in the key foreign markets.
