South Africa, one of the largest exporters for pig iron has registered further fall in exports by about 16% M-o-M in Apr’17.
According to the South Africa customs, the nation’s export for pig iron was at 30,869 MT during Apr’17 against 36,785 MT in Mar’17. Since the beginning of 2017 the nation’s exports continued to shrink.
Country Wise Importers: During Apr’17, the major importer of South African pig iron was United States at 9,800 MT following Italy (6,000 MT), Slovenia (3,950 MT) & South Korea, Spain, China at 3,000 MT each.
On contrary Y-o-Y, it surge by 17.3% in Apr’17 against 26,300 in Apr’16.
Coming to total exports in 2017 (Jan-Apr) it registered at 141,886 MT, surge by 26.38 % against to 112,266 MT in the same period during 2016.
