It
is reported that Japanese Tokyo Steel hiked scrap purchase prices at its five major
plants by an average of JPY 1,000/MT (US$ 12.40/MT) on 25th of this
month.
Japan's
largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has increased the prices for
scrap what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by an average
of 1,000/MT.
A
price increase of JPY 1,000/MT applies to seaborne overland arrivals at the
Okayama, Kyushu, Takamatsu, Tahara & Utsunomiya steel plants.
Following
are the current purchase price (plant wise) for HMS 2 transported from Seaborne
& Overland respectively: (Unit: JPY/MT)
Okayama: 34,500 & 34000
Kyushu: 34,500 & 34,000
Takamatsu: 33,000
Tahara: 34,500 & 34,500 (Overland Unchanged)
Utsunomiya: 34,000
