According to preliminary custom data, South Africa Manganese Ore export witnessed a substantial decline of 25% to around 1.0 MnT in Apr’17 as compared to the previous month. In Mar’16, the South African Manganese Ore stood at 1.3 MnT.
Moreover, on yearly basis, South African Manganese Ore export is down by 4% in Apr’17 against 1.01 MnT in Apr’16.
China’s Manganese Ore Imports
China stands out to be the largest importer of South African manganese ore which imported 0.60 MnT in Apr’17 followed by India, Malaysia and Spain among others. China witnessed a marginal increase of 2% M-o-M in its South African Manganese Ore imports in Apr’17.

With increasing in prices of Manganese Ore on Chinese ports, there has been a surge in its offers around the globe. All the major exporters of Manganese Ore have raised their offers in line with high price acceptability in China.
In consonance with present situation, there are high chances of escalation in Manganese Ore offers in June.
