Indian Billet manufacturers seek higher prices, say Suppliers  

“Billet prices in India have shown a jump of
Rs 1,500 in last few days and might continue its up trend on decent demand from
Southern India, which is facing power crisis,” said Market participants.

“Sellers raise offers on expensive sponge iron
and imported scrap, though demand for finished steel is still dull,” said a
broker from Bhilai.  

Raigarh Billet is trading at around Rs. 33,000/MT
and that of Bhilai is hovering around Rs. 33,600/MT showing an increase of Rs.300/MT.
Billet prices for Raipur is currently trading at Rs. 33,600-700/MT.

 

Billet prices in
Hyderabad is offered in the range of Rs. 35,800-36,000/MT where as Durgapur Billet
prices is trading at Rs.38,000/MT.
