Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have decreased by almost 37% in Apr’17 against Mar’17.
Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. In FY17 Odisha produced around 4.48 MnT of Chrome Ore registering an increase of 29% over FY16 production.
TATA Steel being one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 88,645MT of chrome ore in Apr’17 against 1,33,358 MT in Mar’17. The company has witnessed a substantial decrease of about 34% in dispatch of the material on M-o-M basis. Tata Steel held 8,334 MT for captive consumption in Apr’17 which is around 60% lower than in Mar’17.
OMC registered a substantial decrease of 33% M-o-M in its chrome ore dispatches in Apr’17 against Mar’17.
SteelMint assessed that all the key producers registered fall in their Chrome Ore production in Apr’17 against Mar’17.
