Few cargoes were being heard sold to Turkey
recently, yet few offer prices have been announced by deep-sea exporters,
market sources told.
An exporter based in Israel, recently, sold 2,000 MT
of HMS 1&2 (80:20) and 15,000 MT of HMS 1&2 (70:30) through a mediator
at US$ 420/MT & US$ 400/MT CFR Turkey (Iskenderun port).
According to that exporter, “Turkish mills normally
pay less for this material than US and other European material.”
Further, it's reported that Turkish steel mills
returned to purchase the US scrap last week after postponing the buying for 10
days.
Last week, Turkish steel mills bought several
batches of deep-sea scrap, mostly from the US, with the average purchase prices
of US$440/MT CFR, decreasing by US$ 10-15/tonne from the previous purchase.
Besides, it's said that Turkish purchased 20,000 MT of
HMS 1&2 (80:20) and 10,000 MT of shredded scrap from the UK with the
average prices of US$440.5/MT CFR. However, Turkish buyers said the prices of
the European HMS 1&2 (80:20) should be lower than US$430-435/MT CFR
