Indian billet prices stayed calm despite hike in excise duty

Billet
prices have remained unchanged even after the hike in excise duty from 10% to
12% in the Union Budget 2012-13. 

Market
players had anticipated the Billet prices to show an uptrend but due to
weakening demand the market for Billet remains calm.

Raipur
Billet prices is trading at Rs. 34,400/MT (Ex-Works, Next day) and that of
Rourkela is trading at Rs. 33,700/MT (Ex-works).

Durgapur
Billet prices showed a fall of Rs. 100/MT and is hovering around Rs. 38,800/MT
(Including all) while Mumbai Billet trades at Rs.
 34,800-35,000/MT (Ex-works).
