India being one of the largest ferro manganese exporters witnessed a substantial decrease of 13% Y-o-Y in its exports in 2016.
UAE stood out to be the largest importer of Indian Ferro Manganese in 2016 followed by Iran and Pakistan. UAE’s imports recorded an increase of 8% Y-o-Y in 2016 against 2015. However, some of the major importers such a Italy, taiwan and Japan witnessed a sharp fall in thier imports resulting in decrease of the total exports by India.
Kolkata is the primary port for exporting Indian Ferro Manganese, exporting almost 55% of the material, as West bengal is the major ferro manganese producing state. 35% of the Indian Ferro Manganese is exported through Vizag while there are other ports as well.
