Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has floated a global tender for export of prime mild steel hot rolled plates of 3,000-14,000 MT quantity for Jun’17 shipment.
The material will be of ASTM A36 grade or equivalent, with size ranging between 12-50 mm thickness. Bids for the same will close on 5 May’17 at 16:00 hrs and the material shipping is scheduled by 30 Jun’17 .
Prices should be quoted on FoB, Vishakhapatnam basis. However, prices are to be quoted per MT basis for all the markets other than Nepal, Canada and Taiwan.
Plates Market Overview: Week 19, 2017
Indian domestic plate prices fall marginally – Domestic plate prices in India have fallen marginally this week. Current prices of commercial grade plate are hovering in the range of INR 36,500-37,000/MT (ex-mill). Prices are exclusive of Excise duty of 12.5%. In major markets prices of plates are seen at INR 40,000/MT (ex-Delhi) and INR 39,500/MT (ex-Mumbai). Prices are inclusive of Excise duty of 12.5%.
Major Indian steel makers continue to hold plate export offers. Last offers for plate export from India were heard at USD 545/MT, CFR Europe.
Chinese plate export offers move up amid strengthening domestic market – Chinese manufacturers have increased plate export prices by USD 5-10/MT W-o-W amid surge in Chinese domestic plate prices. Current plate export offers are assessed in the range of USD 430-440/MT, FoB China. Meanwhile prices of plates in domestic market are heard to be in the range of RMB 3,260-3,280/MT which is equivalent to USD 473-476/MT, including VAT & other taxes.
CIS plate export offers remain stable – Plate export offers from CIS nations has remained stable on weekly premises and are in the range of USD 510-525/MT, FoB Black Sea.
