Bangladesh Bulk Ferrous Scrap Imports Surge 15% in April – Port Data

Bangladesh Bulk Scrap Imports have increased by 15% in April, month on month basis and 144% on year on year basis.

As per SteelMint Data, In April Bangladesh Bulk Scrap Import was 146,710 MT against 127,270 MT in March 2017 and 60,000 MT in April 2016.

Bangladesh is an emerging market for scrap imports due to rising steel melting capacities. Country imports over 2 MnT of scrap every year, out of which bulk imports contribute 35-40% of total imports.
