According to the import data released by South Korean Customs, there has been a slight decrease of 0.22% Q-o-Q in its ferro alloy imports.
In the first quarter of 2017, the country imported 0.25 MnT of Ferro Alloys witnessing a mere decrease.
On quarterly basis Ferro Chrome and Ferro Manganese have recorded a decrease of 7% and 26%. Whereas, on the same grounds, South Korea’s imports have witnessed a marginal increase of 7% M-o-M with 0.09 MnT of Ferro Alloys in Mar’17 against 0.08 MnT in Feb’17.
Ferro Alloys exports to South Korea varies, depending on the alloy. South Africa is the largest exporter of Ferro Chrome to South Korea. On similar lines, China is the largest exporter Ferro Silicon, Ukraine for Ferro Silico Manganese and Australia for Ferro Manganese.
However, combining all its imports, South Africa stands out to be the largest exporter of Ferro Alloys to the country followed by China, India and Kazakhstan.
