Mill scale export offers from India declined further in Week 17. Mill scale export offers which were assesed at USD 57-58/MT, FoB towards the beginning of last week have now come down to USD 45-50/MT, FoB India.
Thus a weekly drop of USD 10-11/MT can be noticed since beginning of last week.
Indian Mill scale export vessel line-up: As per the vessel line-up data maintained with SteelMint, presently there are three mill scale export vessels from India this month. Out of this, two have already arrived at berth and one is at anchorage.

Raipur mill scale prices is presently seen at INR 2,200/MT (ex-Raipur, excluding Excise Duty of 12.5%).
Chinese spot iron ore prices continued to exhibit volatility this week – Spot iron ore prices in China continued its volatility. After falling to USD 62/MT, CFR China in beginning of this week, prices regained some strength later this week. Yesterday (i.e. 20 Apr’17) prices rebounded to USD 65/MT, CFR China.
The reason behind rebound in spot iron ore prices was slight gain in steel futures. Few trade activities were also heard to have settled considering the current prices to be bottomed out.
