Japan Crude Steel Output Up 6% M-o-M in Mar’17

According to preliminary customs data, Japan’s crude steel output rose by 6%, M-o-M basis, that is 8.8 MnT in Mar’17 compared to 8.3 MnT in Feb’17.

On yearly basis country’s crude steel production witnessed a minute rise of 0.9% in Mar’17 against last year. In Mar’16 the crude steel output was assessed at 8.72 MnT.

However, in Q1CY17, nation’s crude steel production recorded the growth of 2% to 26 MnT against 25.7 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

Japan’s HRC production showed significant rise of 5.5% at 3.8 MnT , M-o-M basis in Mar’17 against 3.6 MnT in Feb’17.Whereas its CRC output also surged by 21% to 1.7 MnT in Mar’17 against 1.4 MnT in Feb’17.

Meanwhile plates output remained stable since last three months and stood at 0.7 MnT.
