India: Domestic Iron Ore Prices for Apr’17

Odisha: Odisha based major merchant miners kept iron ore prices unchanged after the last hike made in mid of Mar’17. OMC conducted e-auction on 06 Apr’17 fetched overwhelming response. The miner has raised base prices for this e-auction by 36% against the previous auction held in Feb’17. According to sources report to SteelMint, fines were sold at premium over base price while lump fetched flat bids. However declining pellet offers in eastern India may pressurize Odisha iron ore prices.

Trade-wise:
Odisha based merchant miner – KN Ram iron ore offers are at INR 5-18 mm: INR 3,825/MT (loaded to wagons) and INR 1,500/MT (ex-mines) for fines.

Chhattisgarh – National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) rolled over iron ore prices for Apr’17 deliveries.

Goa: No iron ore e-auction has been conducted so far in this month. Last (18th) e-auction was held on 22 Nov’16. Base prices remained unchanged at INR 500/MT for all material type across all grades.

Karnataka : NMDC kept iron ore prices unchanged for Apr’17 Karnataka e-auctions. Base prices of lump (Fe 63.3%) offered by NMDC Donimalai mines stood at INR 2,703/MT and fines (Fe 60.2%) at INR 2,246/MT. Base prices for NMDC Kumaraswamy mines are currently as follows: fines (Fe 61.2%) stood at INR 2,166/MT and lump (Fe 63%) stood at INR 2,559/MT.

Private miners base prices are as follows: lump (Fe 60.2%) offered by SMIORE is at INR 2,650/MT. Fines (Fe 61.9%) offered by Chowgule & Company is at base price of INR 2,420/MT. (Prices mentioned are basic).
