Declining pellet prices in global market has lowered the interest in exports of Indian pellet manufacturers. Major pellet makers who were actively participating in exports, have turned to domestic market. Increased pellet supply in domestic market coupled with dull demand has resulted in decline in pellet offers.
Barbil pellet (Fe 63%) offers which were hovering in the range of INR 4,900-5,000/MT (loaded to wagons) have come down by INR 200/MT. Current offers for Fe 63% pellets are heard in the range of INR 4,700-4,750/MT (loaded to wagons).
Pellet prices in eastern India continue to remain under pressure amid limited trade activities.
Indian Pellet export offers go down by USD 4/MT W-o-W – Amid fall in spot iron ore prices in China, Indian pellet export offers have also witnessed a downfall. Presently Indian pellet (Fe 64/63%) export offers are assessed at USD 83-84/MT, FoB India. Premium for Fe 65% grade pellets are assessed at USD 18/MT, CFR China.
