Steel industry in Odisha has been complaining for short
supply of iron ore from last few months. But things have improved now and Iron
ore loading has improved.
Orissa currently remains the biggest supplier of ore in India as situation in Karnataka
is still unclear with the pending decision of Supreme Court on illegal mining
case.
Supply of ore which was critical a year back on tighter
norms by the Odisha Govt. to control illegal mining has improved over last few
months on lesser exports and easy process of applying permit from local miming
dept.
Sources report SteelMint that on an average iron ore loading
has touched to 1 lakh tonnes, which was 30,000-40,000 tonnes few weeks back. And
most of this is iron ore lumps and which is directly used by sponge
manufacturer.
