The largest importer of scrap Turkey, after a long course of reduced buying activity is now actively buying. According to sources, there have been bookings in Turkey for ferrous scrap. The deals are reported to be at the same levels as they were booked earlier this month. The total deals done are for about 160,000 MT.
The deals that have been reported are as follows:
- Euro scrap – ICDAS booked a mix cargo of 30,000 Tonne containing 15,000 tonne (HMS 75:25), 3,000 (Shredded), 12,000 (Bonus) at an average rate of USD 273.50/MT
- SIMS UK – ICDAS booked a cargo of 25,000 Tonne (HMS, 80:20) at USD 273/MT and 5,000 (Shredded) at USD 278/MT
- BST – Kaptan booked a mixed cargo of 20,000 Tonne (HMS 75:25), 2,500 Tonne (Busheling), 2,500 Tonne (Shredded) and 10,000 Bonus
- SIMS USA – ICDAS booked a cargo of 0-5,000 Tonne (P&S) at USD 286/MT, 15,000-20,000 Tonne (Shredded) at USD 281/MT
- BAKIYE booked a cargo of HMS (80:20) at USD 276/MT
- TOPLAM booked 40,000 Tonne cargo
- Hercules – ISDMEIR booked a cargo of HMS (80:20) at USD 272/MT
- EMR – ICDAS booked a cargo of HMS (80:20) at USD 272.50/MT
As the market is expected to improve and move up to high levels these deals are expected to continue at same pace.
