According to the latest customs data, Turkey flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212(GP/GC) have declined significantly by 13%, M-o-M basis to 0.53 MnT in Feb’17 as compared to previous month. In Jan’17 the same stood at 0.61 MnT.
On yearly basis, Turkey flat steel imports plunged by 23% in Feb’17 against 0.69 MnT in Feb’16 .
Notably, Turkey flat steel imports were reported at 7.76 MnT in 2016, up by 1.4% against 7.65 MnT in 2015.
Grade-Wise Turkey Flat Steel Imports in Feb’17
As per grade-wise analysis, 7208 imports fell by 12.02% M-o-M in Feb’17 against Jan’17 whereas grade like 7209 also witnessed the growth in Feb’17 by 7.46%.Moreover other flat steel grades like 7210,7212 and 7225 seen declining in the month of Feb’17 against Jan’17.

Country-Wise Turkey Flat Steel imports in Feb’17
Russia was the major flat steel exporter and has shipped 1,97,258 MT flat steel to Turkey in Feb’17 against 2,22,949 MT of flat steel in Jan’17. Other major exporting countries include France, South Korea, followed by Ukraine and China.
