South Africa, one of the prominent exporter of chrome ore, manganese ore and ferro chrome has recorded a rise in Manganese Ore exports and fall in Chrome Ore exports in Feb’17.
Being the largest exporter of ferro chrome, South Africa has witnessed a marginal fall of 0.2% M-o-M in its Feb’17 exports. Moreover, there has been a substantial decrease of 29% M-o-M in its chrome ore exports in the same period. However, manganese ore exports in Feb’17 rose by 18% M-o-M at 1.2 MnT.
China stands out to be the largest importer of all the aforementioned ores and alloys. However, there has been a huge fall of 43% M-o-M in its chrome ore imports in Feb’17 against 0.3 MnT in Jan’17. However, there has been increase in China’s Manganese Ore and Ferro Chrome imports by 6% and 24% respectively.
