“Sponge Iron prices in India correct further by Rs 200-300/MT in the morning trade. Raipur Sponge Iron is being offered at Rs 23,800-900/MT by medium plants where as bigger plants are quoting their prices at Rs 24,000-100/MT (Basic Prices),” said a Raipur based trader.
“Sponge Iron prices in Raigarh also fell by Rs 100-200/MT to Rs 23,000/MT (Ex- Works). Manufacturers based in Chhattisgarh worry of rise in power tariffs which might make Sponge Iron prices cheaper,” remarked traders from Raigarh.
“Sponge Iron at Bellary and Hyderabad trades lower by Rs 200-300/MT in line with falling steel prices,” reported sources.
