According to US customs data, nation’s flat steel exports which includes (7208 – HR coils/Plates, 7209 – CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) registered a significant growth of 13% M-o-M basis to 0.43 MnT in Jan’17 against 0.38 MnT in Dec’16.
However,on yearly basis, USA flat steel exports reported a surge of whopping 16 % in Jan’17 as compared to previous year. In Jan’16 the flat steel exports stood at 0.37 MnT.
On the other hand nation’s flat steel have reported a decline of 4% to 4.6 MnT in 2016 as compared to 4.8 MnT in 2015.
Grade wise Flat Steel Exports of USA in Jan’17
As per grade-wise analysis, 7208 exports surged by 16.32% M-o-M in Jan’17 against Dec’16 whereas 7209,7210, 7225 and 7212 have also witnessed the growth in Jan’17 against previous month.

Country-Wise USA Flat Steel Exports in Jan’17
In Jan’17 Mexico stood as the major buyer of USA flat steel and procured 2,10,327 MT of flat steel individually.Other buyers were Canada and India.
