According to market sources report to SteelMint, Rajasthan based pellet maker – Jindal SAW is coming up with its pellet export shipment shortly.
Jindal SAW operates a pellet plant of 1.2 MnT pa capacity integrated with beneficiation plant in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan.
The pellet maker is all set to export 50,000 MT pellets of grade Fe 65% to one of the Asian countries (other than China). The export vessel is likely to arrive at Kandla port and the material loading is expected to start in 1st week of Apr’17. The pellet export deal has been concluded considering average fines index for the month of Mar’17 with the added pellet premium.
Indian pellet exports crossed 7 MnT before FY17 end – Higher global prices, better realization and improved pellet demand from China raised pellet exports from India sharply in FY17. In FY17 (till Feb’17), India exported 7.52 MnT pellets. By far JSPL remained the largest exporter at 2.13 MnT followed by BRPL at 1.61 MnT and Essar Steel at 1.37 MnT.
