Domestic Finish Long Steel Prices Up With Good Demand

Indian rebar prices are rigorously on increasing track after Holi. The Small and medium scale rebar producers have increased the prices up to INR 1,300/MT (USD 20) and Wire rod up to INR 900/MT (USD 14) compared to trade during last weekend i.e. 11 Mar’17.

As per the market participants, the surge is due to improvement in demand. The prices are also supported by the global factors and the increasing raw material prices. The prices of billet are continuously increasing which are supporting the medium and small scale players to increase the prices.

The fresh offers for the rebar are assessed at INR 33,600/MT(+800) Ex-Delhi, INR 30,800/MT(+600) Ex-Raipur, INR 32,000/MT (+400) Ex-Mumbai, INR 32,000/MT (+500) Ex-Hyderabad and for Ex-Jalna INR 31,000/MT(+600).

For Wire rod the current offers for 5.5mm Wire for Central region is INR 31,800/MT (+600) Ex-Raipur and Eastern region at INR 30,200/MT (+900) Ex-Durgapur.

Note: The price changes are compared to Saturday (11 Mar’17) and these are basic & ex-work prices.
