According to the recent data released by WSA (World Steel Association), the total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries for 2017 has registered an increase of 2%,M-o-M basis and was recorded at 136.5 MnT in Jan’17 against 134.1 MnT in Dec’16.
On yearly basis, world crude steel production made the hike of 7% in Jan’17 against Jan’16 and stood at 127.2 MnT.

China crude steel output rise 7.4% in Jan’17 China’s crude steel output surged by 7.4%,Y-o-Y from 62.56 MnT in Dec’16 to 67.2 MnT in Jan’17. On monthly basis, the crude steel production remained stable at 67.2 MnT since last two months.
Japan crude steel production up 3% in Jan’17
In Jan’17 nation’s crude steel reported a marginal hike of 3%,Y-o-Y basis to 9.0 MnT against 8.77 MnT in Jan’16. On M-o-M basis, Japan’s crude steel production recorded the growth of 3.3% in Jan’17 against 8.71 MnT inDec’16.
India crude steel production up 12%in Jan’17
India’s crude steel output has increased by whooping 12% in Jan’17 to 8.4 MnT in contrast to 7.50 MnT in Jan’16,.However,India’s crude steel output has moved up marginally by 0.1%, M-o-M basis in Jan’17 against previous month.
South Korea crude steel output up 2%in Jan’17
South Korea’s crude steel production was recorded at 5.8 MnT up by 2% in Jan’17 against 5.68 MnT in Jan’16. Thus country’s crude steel output has fallen minutely by 1% M-o-M basis in Jan’17 against 5.86 MnT in Dec’16.
