Few pellet export shipments are recorded for Feb’17 and Mar’17. Better realization in exports has attracted Indian pellet exporters.
Recently, 2-3 pellet export shipment is in pipeline now for Feb’17. East based pellet exporters namely Essar Steel may export 1-2 shipments and JSPL may export 1 shipment in the month of Feb’17.
According to sources, JSPL is likely to ship 4-5 shipments in the month of Mar’17.
It is to be noted that JSPL continues to remain India’s largest pellet exporter. As per customs data maintained with Steel Mint, JSPL exported 2.03 MnT pellets in FY17(till Jan’17).
In its recently released quarterly performance results for Q3 FY17, company’s pellet production was recorded at 1.69 MnT in Q3 FY17, up 8% Q-o-Q. Pellet sales in first nine months of this fiscal jumped 219% Y-o-Y and was recorded at 2.14 MnT.
BRPL, Essar Steel turned out to be the 2nd and 3rd largest iron ore exporter and has exported 1.4 MnT and 1.2 MnT respectively till Jan’17 in FY17.
Indian pellet exports have shown a tremendous growth in FY17. Around, 6.7 MnT pellets have been exported till Jan’17. It is expected that India will export around 8 MnT pellets in FY17.
