Alloys prices by Rs 1000-2000/MT.
Silico Manganese in
Raipur is trading at the level of Rs 61,000/MT and Ferro manganese at Rs
59,000/MT i.e. much higher from the levels seen last week.
According to a top official from Raipur, “Power is a major
cost for manufacturing Ferro alloys. The net impact of recent power tariff hike
accounts to 95 paise/unit which means a hike in production cost of Rs
4,000-5,000/MT. So, manufacturers would ideally want to pass on the hike to the end users to certain
extent”.
However, rise in prices have lowered the buying interest for now and
market players wait for the steel market to give some direction, he added
further.
