Chhattisgarh Government Issues Notice to State based Re-Rolling Mills

According to SteelMint market report, there has been a legal notice issued to the Re-Rolling Mills based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh by the Chhattisgarh Environmental Conservation Board for the increased pollution by the Rolling mills.

It was also confirmed by that this was the second notice issued to these plants under Direction U/S 31A of Air (Prevention and Control of Environment) Act, 1981.

This notices included two major actions to be taken on closing of the mills and also the concerned authority will discontinue the Power, Water and other facilities granted to the plant with the immediate effect.

Sources also confirmed that noticed have been issued to 15 or more Re-rolling Mills and these Mills include 70% of Light Structure manufacturers and 30% of Rebar and Heavy Structure manufacturers based in Raipur.

One of the manufacturer who received noticed added that, if this is implemented then there will be a major impact on the market as there is no stock available and no production, resulting in the increase in prices. But it is not been confirmed what further steps government is planning to take on this notice.

Impact:

If the notice is implemented it will affect the Central Rebar and Structure market as Raipur is one of the key suppliers of these commodities resulting in the increase in prices due to shortage of product in local market.
