Improved demand from Indian iron ore exporters have made truck owners to raise their truck rentals by Rs 200-250/t.
“Truck freights have been increased on improved iron ore prices in international market and falling rupee. Also supply has been limited from Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh” said a local trader based in Raipur Chattisgarh.
Currently there is good demand for low grade iron ore from Indian exporters and most of the ore is being sourced from sponge plants or crusher units based in Jharkhand. Truck freight from Raipur to Vizag port goes up to Rs 1400-1500/t, he further added.
