The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia
has set the May 2012 Indonesian Coal Reference Price for thermal coal at US$
102.12/MT, which is down by $3.49 from April 2012 price of US$ 105.61.
Coal reference price (HBA) price is
calculated based on a monthly average (previous month) of the Indonesia Coal
price Index (ICI-1), Platts-1, Newcastle Export Index (NEX) and the New
Castle Global Coal Index (GC) from the previous month.
According to the energy ministry's data, “It is the
lowest price since December 2010”.
