Coking Coal imports into India rose marginally by 1% in Jan’17 against that in Dec’16, according to CoalMint Research.
In Jan’17, Coking Coal imports into the country were at 4.01 MnT, surpassing the imports in Dec’16, at 3.97 MnT.

A break-up of the importing nations during the month shows that the major proportion of the imports were from Australia; while, imports from other countries, like Canada, Mozambique, New Zealand, Russia and USA, forming the rest.

During the month under review, the Mormugao port had handled the largest volume of import traffic; followed by the Paradip and Dhamra ports.
