Indian rebar market has seen fall in prices by INR 100-500/MT during last one week.
During the week, the manufacturers in Ahmedabad, Durgapur, Gobindgarh & Mumbai reduced the prices by INR 100-500/MT. However, in Raipur & Hyderabad the price almost remained firm.
As per the market participants, the major reason remains the same that there is low demand in the market as the elections were held last week. Although, in the current scenario, prices seem to be bottomed out. Industry Experts anticipate that prices will remain range-bound at current levels until trade activities regain.
Presently, the offer price for 12 mm rebar by manufacturers are assessed – at INR 26,800/MT ex-Raipur, INR 28,500/MT ex- Hyderabad, INR 29,600/MT ex-Mumbai & INR 26,400/MT ex-Durgapur (basic price, excise duty, VAT/CST extra).
