Japan: Manganese Ore Imports at 0.90 MnT in 2016

Japan, one of the moderate importers of Manganese Ore in the world, has imported 0.90 MnT in 2016. In 2015, the said country had imported 1.22 MnT of Manganese Ore.

Japanese Manganese ore imports stood at 0.14 MnT in Dec’16, having witnessed a substantial rise of 133% M-o-M. In Nov’16 the imports were at 0.06 MnT. In similar lines, the imports also have increased by 32% against the same month of the previous year, at 0.11 MnT.

South Africa’s Manganese Ore export to Japan at 0.61 MnT in 2016

South Africa, reputed as the largest exporter of Manganese Ore in the world, remains the largest supplier to Japan as well. In 2016, Japan imported 0.61 MnT Manganese Ore against 0.85 MnT in 2015.

In Dec’16, the country imported 0.11 MnT Manganese Ore which is 162% higher than Nov’16 imports. In Dec’15, the country has imported 0.11 MnT Manganese Ore.

Australia and Gabon are the second and third largest exporters of Manganese Ore to Japan. However, imports from Australia has declined by around 45% Y-o-Y whereas imports from Gabon increased by 56% on same parameter of comparison.
