Trade statistics released by the fourth largest iron ore exporter Ukraine customs shows that the iron ore exports by the country were significantly up by 14% in Nov’16. In Oct’16, the country exported around 2.85 MnT iron ore.
In Nov’16, the country imported 3.25 MnT iron ore as compared to 3.5 MnT in Nov’15. Exports dropped by 7.37% Y-o-Y.
In first eleven months of 2016, the country exported 35.98 MnT iron ore as compared to 41.65 MnT in the same time frame in 2015 down by the same ration for the month at 14%.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) exports in Nov’16 were registered at 2 MnT, increased by 13% M-o-M. However, on the Y-o-Y basis, the non-agglomerated iron ore exports have decreased by 19% as it was 2.46 MnT in Oct’15. The largest importer of Ukrainian iron ore is China.
The agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports in Nov’16 were registered at 1.24 MnT up by 15% compared to Oct’16. On Y-o-Y basis also the agglomerated iron ore imports were up by 20% compared with Nov’15.
