NMDC supplied 476 rakes of iron ore from its Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh last month. The miner supplied the same quantity of iron ore in Dec’16. NMDC hiked iron ore prices by INR 125-140/MT M-o-M for Jan’17 deliveries.
C.G. based sponge iron units procurement rise in Jan’17 – C.G. based sponge iron units sourced 64 rakes from NMDC (C.G.) in Jan’17 compared to 56 rakes in Dec’16. Sponge manufacturers raised production and monthly average C-DRI prices in central India moved up by INR 1,100/MT on monthly premises in Jan’17.
Movement for exports increase sharply by 36% M-o-M – NMDC’s movement for exports increased significantly in Jan’17. The miner loaded 90 rakes for export in Jan’17 compared to 66 rakes in Dec’16.
Outside C.G. based units reduce iron ore sourcing in Jan’17 – Iron ore procurement of outside C.G. based units fell 9% M-o-M to 322 rakes in Jan’17. RINL (Vizag Steel) sourced 195 iron ore rakes in Jan’17 against 190 rakes in Dec’16. Iron ore procurement of JSW Steel, Dolvi remained mostly stable in Jan’17 and it procured 57 rakes last month.
Southern India based pellet maker – KIOCL sourced 49 rakes from NMDC (C.G.) last month compared to 72 rakes in Dec’16, down 32% M-o-M. The pellet maker was seen sourcing iron ore from Odisha based merchant miner – Kaypee Enterprises in Jan’17.
Gallant Ispat sourced 3 rakes from NMDC (C.G.) last month.
