India: JSW Cement raises grinding capacity to 25.10 mtpa with Nagaur expansion

  • Nagaur grinding capacity rises to 3.50 mnt/year
  • Commissions 1 mnt/year grinding unit at Nagaur

JSW Cement has commissioned an additional 1 mnt/year cement grinding unit at Nagaur, Rajasthan, strengthening its manufacturing footprint in North India. The expansion takes the company’s total cement grinding capacity to 25.10 mnt/year and increases Nagaur’s grinding capacity to 3.50 mnt/year.

Capacity expansion strengthens regional presence
The company has begun operations in North India in March 2026 with the Nagaur Integrated Plant, comprising a 3.30 mnt/year clinkerisation unit and a 2.50 mnt/year grinding unit. The additional grinding capacity increases the plant’s ability to serve cement demand across Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and the National Capital Region (NCR).

The expansion has been funded through a combination of equity and long-term debt, indicating a planned capacity build-out aligned with the company’s regional growth strategy.

Clinker base supports grinding expansion
With the commissioning, the company’s total grinding capacity reaches 25.10 mnt/year, while total clinker manufacturing capacity, including its joint venture JSW Cement FZC (Free Zone Company – A joint venture entity associated with JSW Cement in the UAE), stands at 9.74 mnt/year.

The expansion also improves the utilisation potential of the Nagaur integrated facility by adding grinding capacity alongside its existing clinkerisation operations. This gives the company greater scope to convert its clinker base into finished cement for regional markets.

Energy efficiency investments add support
During the quarter ended September 2026, the company also commissioned an alternate fuel handling system and a waste heat recovery system at the Nagaur plant.

These additions are expected to support energy-efficiency efforts at the integrated facility and strengthen its operating infrastructure as production scales up.

Outlook
With the additional grinding unit now operational, JSW Cement is positioned to increase its presence across North Indian markets during the remaining of FY27. The ability to serve Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and NCR from Nagaur is expected to support higher regional supply capability as cement demand grows.
