BigMint’s bi-weekly assessment for Fe 62% concentrate remained unchanged at INR 4,950/t ($52/t) ex-works. Seller indications ranged from INR 4,700/t ($49/t) to around INR 5,100/t ($53/t), while Fe 63% concentrate offers were heard at around INR 5,300/t ($55/t).
BigMints Fe 69% mill scale assessment for Kandla declined by INR 100/t ($1/t) to INR 7,400/t ($76/t) DAP Kandla, while Raipur prices fell by INR 50/t ($0.5/t) to INR 7,450/t ($78/t) ex-works. In contrast, Jalna prices edged up by INR 50/t ($0.5/t) to INR 6,350/t ($66/t) ex-works. Around 2,600 t of deals were reported at INR 7,400-7,800/t ($76-81/t) DAP Kandla. Around 4,600 t of deals were recorded at INR 7,200-7,700/t ($74-80/t) ex-works Raipur. Around 500 t of deals were recorded at INR 6,400/t ($66/t) ex-works Jalna.
BigMint’s billet index increased by INR 50/t d-o-d to INR 45,800/t exw-Raipur, as uneven power outages reduced billet availability in the spot market and provided slight support to prices despite weak demand. The conversion spread between sponge iron (PDRI) and billet for standalone induction furnaces in the Raipur cluster was assessed at INR 16,600/t.
