India: Vedanta-FACOR’s ferro chrome production rises 13% y-o-y in H1FY’27

  • Higher ever chrome ore production recorded in H1FY’27
  • Ferro chrome production up 26% y-o-y in H1 of current fiscal

Vedanta-FACOR’s ferro chrome production increased 13% y-o-y to 53,000 t in H1FY’27, compared with 47,000 t in H1FY’26. The growth was supported by a significant improvement in captive chrome ore production, which rose 31% y-o-y to 202,000 t from 155,000 t. The higher ore output was largely driven by the restart of operations at the Kalarangiatta mines, improving raw material availability for the company’s ferro chrome operations.

The increase in captive chrome ore availability provided stronger feedstock support for ferro chrome production. Ferro chrome output stood at 24,000 t in Q2FY’27, up 26% y-o-y against 19,000 t in corresponding period last year. The company’s integrated mining and smelting operations, along with improved ore availability, are expected to support production continuity.
