- Five lots of HC ferro chrome to be offered
- Bids edged up by INR 400/t ($4/t) in last auction
Vedanta-Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd (FACOR) will conduct its ferro chrome auction on 7 October 2026. The auction will feature five lots of high-carbon (HC) ferro chrome, comprising two lots of material with Cr:57% min (10-150 mm), one lot of Cr:54% min (10-20 mm), one lot of Cr:52% min (0-10 mm) and one lot of Cr:55% min (0-10 mm).
At the previous auction held on 11 September 2026, the entire offered quantity was booked. The prime lot of HC ferro chrome (Cr:57% min, 10-150 mm) fetched an H1 price of INR 118,000/t ($1,226/t) against the base price of INR 117,500/t ($1,221/t).
Ferro chrome (HC60%, 10-150 mm) prices have held around INR 118,800/t ($1,234/t) exw-Jajpur, with firm domestic buying and sellers holding offers steady. Lower exports and balanced supply-demand are keeping prices rangebound, while stainless steel sentiment remains cautious on moderate flat product demand and weaker long product activity. Market participants will look to the auction for fresh price signals.
