India’s rice export vessel line-up stood at 1.38 million tonnes (mnt) according to BigMint data last updated on 25 September 2026. The shipments covered destinations across Africa and other overseas markets, with Benin recording the highest volume among the individually listed destinations at 199,258 tonnes (t).
Benin leads listed destinations
Benin had 199,258 t lined up from Kakinada, comprising 5% parboiled (PB) and bagged rice. Major exporters listed for the destination included Aavri, Satyam Balaji, Vardhman, ABGT Rice, Janaki Agro and Honey Overseas. Senegal followed with 105,580 t from Kakinada, comprising 5% PB rice. Guinea accounted for 103,608 t from Kakinada, comprising 5% PB and bagged rice.
African destinations account for major listed shipments
Yemen had 54,186 t lined up from Kandla, comprising bagged rice, while Togo accounted for 51,500 t from Kakinada, comprising 5% PB rice. Angola had 47,250 t of bagged rice from Kandla, followed by Cameroon at 40,000 t of bagged rice from Kandla. Bangladesh accounted for 27,000 t of 5% PB rice from Kakinada. Kenya had 23,070 t of bagged rice from Kandla, while Somalia accounted for 23,000 t of bagged rice from Kandla. Mozambique had 9,550 t of bagged rice from Kandla, while Logo accounted for 8,000 t of 5% PB rice from Kakinada. Belgium had 5,675 t of bagged rice from Kandla.
Others account for largest volume
The others category accounted for 682,120 t, the largest volume in the vessel line-up. Shipments were scheduled through Kandla, Kakinada, Vizag and Chennai, covering bagged rice, 5% PB, 100% white rice and 5% PB rice. Major exporters listed under this category included Supplex Tek, Olam Agri, Shri Ram, Al-Gyas Exports, Sarala Foods, and Satyam Balaji.
Rice shipments decline 46% w-o-w
Rice shipments declined to 124,486 tonnes (t) during the latest week, from 231,600 t in the previous week, marking a 46% week-on-week decline. In the previous week, shipments were recorded at 96,000 t from Kakinada, 20,000 t from Vizag and 115,600 t from Kandla, while the latest week recorded 124,486 t from Kandla.
Kakinada and Kandla remain key loading ports
Kakinada handled shipments to Benin, Senegal, Guinea, Togo, Bangladesh and Logo, with 5% PB rice featuring prominently. Kandla handled shipments to Yemen, Angola, Cameroon, Kenya, Somalia, Mozambique and Belgium, mainly comprising bagged rice.
Outlook
The 1.38 mnt vessel line-up shows a sizeable export shipment pipeline, with 5% PB and bagged rice accounting for major portions of the listed cargoes. Kakinada and Kandla remain the key loading ports in the current line-up.
