JSW Steel Evaluating Opportunities To Achieve 40 MnT Crude Steel Output

JSW Steel is India’s leading primary integrated steel producer and it continues to evaluate various opportunities, with its long term goal of becoming a 40 MT steel company.

“JSW Steel has a vision to be a 40 MT steel company in line with the estimated increase in installed capacity in India to 300 MT in the next decade. Accordingly, the company continues to evaluate various opportunities both organic and inorganic to achieve its long term vision,” JSW Steel said in a BSE filing.

In a clarification sought to the Exchange regarding the reports to buy Monnet Ispat.
JSW has with an installed steelmaking capacity of 18 MnT PA and it has registered 43% Y-o-Y growth in its crude steel production in Q3 FY17.

In first nine months of this fiscal (i.e. Apr’16-Dec’16) JSW Steel’s crude steel output was recorded at 11.7 MnT, up 25% Y-o-Y. The company plans to achieve crude steel production of 15.75 MnT in FY17, up 25% against its last year’s achieved crude steel output.
