Sponge Iron prices at Raipur, Raigarh, Rourkela and Durgapur
went down by Rs 100-200/MT on Monday. Whereas, prices in Hyderabad & Bellary remained unchanged inspite of a rise seen in Ingot & TMT prices by Rs 500/MT.
According to market players, “Prices should sustain at
these levels. Imports of scrap, the other alternative for sponge iron has
also been low in last few weeks due to falling Rupee. So, even a small rise in demand is expected to shoot up
the prices”.
