Trade statistics released by the Netherlands Customs shows that the iron ore imports of the 5th largest iron ore importer have moved down by 11% in Oct’16.
In Oct’16, the country imported 2.35 MnT iron ore as compared to 2.62 MnT in Sep’16. It moved down by the same proportion of 11% on Y-o-Y basis too, when weighed against the quantity of 2.62 MnT in the month of Oct’15.
In 2016 the country’s iron ore imports for first ten months as well were down by 8% with the quantity of 25.62 MnT against 27.76 MnT in the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) imports in Oct’16 were registered at 1.92 MnT, decreased by 13% over the previous month as it was 2.20 MnT in Sep’16. The country imported 2.03 MnT non-agglomerated ore in Oct’15.
The agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrates) imports in Oct’16 were registered at 0.43 MnT against 0.42 MnT in Sep’16. However, on Y-o-Y basis, the country’s agglomerated imports dropped down by 27% as it was 0.59 MnT in Oct’15.
